- Air Fryer Corn on the Cob Recipe
Why this recipe works
Buttered sweet corn is a reliable, crowd-pleasing side. Cooking corn in the air fryer shortens cook time, creates lightly crisped kernels and charred spots, and eliminates the need to boil the cobs first. The method keeps the inside tender and juicy while giving the exterior a pleasant texture.
This version combines butter (or olive oil), garlic and fresh parsley for a bright, aromatic finish. It’s a low-effort dish that pairs well with grilled proteins and picnic sides while avoiding long prep or heating the oven.
Ingredients to make Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

- Fresh corn on the cob — aim for husked cobs if available to save time.
- Melted butter or olive oil — holds the garlic and parsley and adds rich flavor.
- Garlic clove — crushed; garlic-infused butter works well for deeper flavor.
- Fresh parsley — finely chopped for brightness.
- Salt and pepper — to taste.
See the recipe card below for exact quantities.
Substitutions
- Garlic — use garlic powder or dried minced garlic if fresh isn’t available; you can also swap in other seasonings like Italian herbs or grated Parmesan.
- Parsley — basil or cilantro are good alternatives depending on your flavor preference.
Variations
- Spicy — add chili flakes, cayenne or chili powder for heat.
- Mexican-style — top with crema or sour cream, cotija or queso fresco, lime juice, chili powder and cilantro for street-corn flavors.
- Kid-friendly — keep it simple with butter and a sprinkle of salt; consider serving kernels off the cob for young children.
How to make Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

Step 1: Remove any remaining husks and silk from the corn. Dice the parsley and crush the garlic.

Step 2: Combine butter (or oil), garlic and parsley in a pan and warm gently until the butter melts. Avoid overheating to keep the garlic from burning.

Step 3: Toss the cobs in the buttery mixture so they are evenly coated. Reserve any extra sauce if you want to baste the corn after cooking.

Step 4: Place the cobs in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C (390°F) for about 6 minutes, turning every 2 minutes. The corn should be tender with a few charred spots. Finish with salt and pepper and the reserved butter if desired.
Hint: Save any extra butter sauce to brush over the corn just before serving for extra flavor.
Leftovers
Store leftover corn in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–5 days. You can also freeze cooked cobs for up to four months; reheat from frozen in the oven or air fryer.
Recipe FAQs
About 6 minutes at 200°C (390°F), turning the cobs every 2 minutes. Cooking time may vary slightly with air fryer model and cob size.
Yes. Air frying is a quick, easy way to get tender, slightly charred corn without boiling or grilling.
Frozen cobs can be cooked in the air fryer but may need a few extra minutes. Rotate and check every couple of minutes for even cooking.
You don’t need to line the basket. For easier cleanup, use parchment paper or a silicone air fryer liner designed for your model.
